Welcome to the 2009 SNAP Conference!

"Twitter," "Ning," and "iGoogle" were among the buzzwords heard at tonight's Welcome Reception. Besides enjoying great food and drinks, conference attendees had the opportunity to discuss the afternoon pre-conference session, which covered getting involved on social networks like Twitter, Facebook and Ning, using video to engage online readers, crowdsourcing and mobile communications.
"I really believe in understanding what's going on with associations as clients and SNAP has been a great way for us to understand what the trends are, what's going on, what's the best way to message our members and what struggles associations are having, so that we can learn how best to work with our clients," says Nicole Bates Provonchee of Parthenon Publishing. "That's why I'm here."

Shane Robinson, an attendee from McLean, Va., added that he's looking forward to learning more about how association publishers can use social media alongside their print publications.

Tomorrow's schedule is jam-packed with more tools and tips for attendees. Be sure to check often for updates on each session!
